The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia, Jonathan Lacote, in response to a journalist’s question about Armenian prisoners of war in Azerbaijan whom Ilham Aliyev considers to be ‘terrorists and saboteurs’ during a press conference organized within the framework of the Francophonie Day cultural events, said, “My approach to the prisoners of war is clear and simple: all prisoners of war must be returned not only based on the November 9th agreement but also based on international conventions and human rights.”
Within this context, speaking about the role of the Minsk Group, the ambassador emphasized, “The Minsk Group co-chairs are the only body that can implement negotiations in order to resolve the conflict diplomatically.”
