“He is unashamedly talking about snap elections. Who are you to determine when elections will be held? Do you have that right? I think that all opposition forces and nationalist citizens should have one agenda: Pashinyan must resign as soon as possible because what else can he do… He caused 5,000 losses, he lost Shushi and Hadrut, what else do you want him to do?” Vice President of the Republican Party, Eduard Sharmazanov, said during a meeting with reporters at the Hayeli press club regarding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s announcement on snap parliamentary elections.
He said, “This can be a show or bait he threw at the opposition. It’s true that the Homeland Salvation Movement announced that its agenda will not change, but there were also forces that immediately announced their participation. That, of course, is their right, but I think it is too early to talk about the snap elections. I cannot imagine how we will hold snap elections under him- with snipers or five thousand police officers going to every region? If someone says that they demand his resignation, will they get shot?”
The RPA vice president also expressed concern that there will be attempts at clashes between citizens during the upcoming elections. “Perhaps Pashinyan received an order to ensure that clashes take place. But the opposition did everything to make sure that there are no clashes.”
