People’s Artist of Armenia Paravon Mirzonyan is surprised that calls are being made even at the state level regarding positive relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan. “Do you not know history? Turks have always thought about eradicating Greeks, Armenians, and all Christians. The same plan is being implemented now.”
He is also angry about the fact that Armenia has not responded to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s degrading and insulting statements about Armenia and the Armenian people. “That stupid Azerbaijani president Aliyev is making statements. If you’re an educated person and you consider yourself to be the president of a country, aren’t you embarrassed to be making such statements about Armenians? Your father had better manners. And Armenia is tolerating all of this. And if they are tolerating this, I don’t know what, but there must be something that they are tolerating.
Lately, they showed on television that some Azerbaijani folk artist was speaking about Armenians. Why are you showing that? Have you ever asked me what I can say about Azerbaijanis? Who was that person to be able to give an opinion on Armenians and the Armenian culture?
And Aliyev is an uncultured president who has no manners… What does it mean that we won? You didn’t win. Turkey, Israel, Great Britain, and every other country that has a stake in this won. No one can defeat our youth. For example, wrestler Vazgen Tevanyan threw the Azerbaijani wrestler to the ground with a score of 9-0. And if it were just a war between Armenia and Azerbaijan, our boys would have won even under this poor leadership because we are defending our soil, our homeland, and our families. Has no one asked Aliyev, who is speaking so much about culture, about how Armenians built Baku, or who built Baku’s opera building?”
