Burning and damaging waste containers in the city have become rather frequent. More than 500 waste containers have been damaged and this fact causes real anxiety and indignation of the city authorities and residents. Each container costs the community 90 thousand drams.
The process of changing and replenishment of waste containers started in 2019. Nearly 8900 new containers have already been placed in the administrative districts of the capital up today. According to the head of the municipal organization responsible for waste removal and sanitary cleaning Armen Grigoryan, they have stored approximately 4000 waste containers which are to be installed after the refuse chutes in block of flats are closed. The burnt and damaged containers have to be replaced with new ones. So, residents are to be careful not to damage the containers.
The Municipality of Yerevan would like to warn that each case of damaging community property will be reported to the police and will make sure that the vandals will be brought to responsibility.
The police will reveal the vandals and the damage will compensated by the violators.
However, each of us should care for the cleanness of the capital and our common property.
