“We should not beg for peace, but we should demand it. But in order to demand peace and instill stability and security in a country, that country needs to have adequate leadership that won’t fall to its knees in front of the enemy. It needs to reorganize the army and be able to defend its homeland,” representative of the ARF Armenia Supreme Body, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, told reporters at Yerablur.
The members of the ARF visited the military pantheon to pay respects to the memory of the soldiers who died during the 2016 April War.
Meanwhile, according to Ishkhan Saghatelyan, Armenia’s political sector is moving in a different direction. “We are no longer sending troops to Artsakh. The process of dissolving the army has begun. They are trying to make people believe in fake peace, which will lead to yet another war.”
According to the Dashnak politician, the war has not ended. There is a relative ceasefire, and after the humiliating capitulation agreement, the enemy is trying to continue its violations. “We have had more losses during this time, and the enemy has placed demands before us.” In his opinion, the current political leadership of Armenia is incapable of resolving the problems that the country is currently facing. That is why there are demands for the government to resign. “They are dangerous, and that is a fact.”

The ARF’s position on the snap elections remains the same, and if the ARF were to participate in the elections, they will not consider the elections to be standard ones, but an opportunity to “remove the evil government from power through elections.” But, Ishkhan Saghatelyan thinks that it is too early to speak about the elections yet. “We have a plan before the elections, which we will present.”
In addition, ARF member and Permanent Representative of Artsakh to the Middle East, Garo Kebabjian, was buried at the Yerablur Pantheon today. “Garo was one of our Dashnak friends who immediately turned to the homeland after Armenia became independent, and he served his people, Armenia, and Artsakh over the next 30 years. He is an example of a dedicated person, a good friend, and a good Armenian. This was a great loss,” Ishkhan Saghatelyan said.
