“That was not official information. That was gossip or a surprise. Such rumors had been circulating for around one month. Yesterday, the ruling party’s mass media wrote about that and tried to use PR, which caused the opposite effect to happen,” the head of the Bright Armenia faction, Edmon Marukyan, told reporters in parliament regarding the fact that the Prime Minister’s spokesperson had confirmed rumors of prisoners of war returning from Baku, but the plane supposedly carrying the prisoners arrived in Yerevan empty.
According to Edmon Marukyan, they tried to use PR during a tragedy. “This is another failure of the disgusting, incompetent authorities, which is deplorable.”
Regarding My Step deputy Andranik Kocharyan’s implication that there may be a necessity for Putin-Erdogan dialogue regarding the prisoners of war issue, Marukyan said, “They will say everything to lie and to insinuate that they are not at fault.”
