Manuk Sos Torosyan had many dreams, but he was not able to implement them because he died during the second Artsakh war along with other young people in his generation.
He was born on May 9, 2002. He was very young. His cousin, Pargev Torosyan, said that Manuk was a cherished child. He had three sisters, and his father, Sos, dreamed of having a son, and was proud of Manuk’s birth.

“Sos said that his wife, Nune, gave him a wonderful present on Victory Day with the birth of his son,” Pargev said.
Manuk was conscripted to the army on July 28, 2020, but he died on the night between September 27th and 28th. “He spoke to his mother for the last time on September 26th. That was Manuk’s last phone call,” his cousin said. He had difficulty speaking about the hero because his emotions were choking him.
“He was a very modest, intelligent, and well-mannered person. He was the only brother of three sisters. He was very loved, and he had a great sense of humor. He was a long-awaited child. Imagine, his sister is 15 years older than him… Manuk was very respected among his friends,” Manuk’s cousin said.
Manuk graduated from the school in Akhuryan. Then, he went to a vocational school. He wanted to become a jeweler. “He left his education behind and went to see his father in Russia because his father recently had heart surgery. But he came back so that he could serve. Since we were in the middle of a pandemic, my uncle would say, ‘Manuk, that is why you should stay, the roads are closed.’ But Manuk would refuse, insisting that he needed to carry out his duty to his homeland,” Pargev added.
He said that his cousin died after serving for two months. “He received the Service Medal from the President of Artsakh. Now, we maintain contact with his friends in combat. They have said many wonderful things about him… He died on the same day as one of his friends in combat from projectile wounds in Jrakan.”
