Within the framework of the reforms in social sphere Yerevan Municipality has kicked off special trainings entitled “Social work”. The goal is to increase the professional skills of the employees and boost the development of social service institute.
About 60 employees of the sphere of the administrative districts are to take part in the trainings to improve their knowledge. At the end of the trainings they will take exams and those who pass will get certificates.
“In 2019 structural changes were made in the Municipality of Yerevan. Working under pressure in 2020 we understood that we had chosen the right way. The next step is to improve professional skills to organize the activities in a more efficient and targeted way. The program will be continued”, said the First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Hrachya Sargsyan.

According to the head of Children’s and Social Defense Department of Yerevan Municipality Lusine Hovhannisyan, the basis for a new system of social defense had been laid in Yerevan. The program is implemented by the initiative of Yerevan Municipality in association with the RA Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, “The National Institute of Labour and Social Research” SNCO, the USAID Democracy and Governance Agency, “World Vision Armenia” organization.
According to the USAID Democracy and Governance Agency head division Adam Stephan, the social worker institute is extremely important. Due to the activities of these people problems of numerous families have been solved. And the role of Yerevan Municipality in the development of the sphere should be particularly outlined.
