Statement by Colonel Hadem Pashat
Today, I was honored to participate in the commemoration of the 106th Armenian Genocide Memorial Day that marks the atrocities perpetrated by the Ottoman Turks in 1915 against Armenian people and humanity.
Despite my pleasure and joy of being here on this beautiful land of Armenia amongst its hospitable people, I deeply felt sorrow and pain when I envisioned such horrifying doings during my visit to the Genocide museum and witnessed what was carried against them during 1915, I felt and saw that pain reflected on their faces at the memorial. Every year, during commemoration day on April 24, their pain is renewed.
As an Egyptian, and like all Egyptians, I pray to the Almighty God that the coming years may bring peace, happiness and prosperity to Armenia.

I call on the international community to seize this opportunity and create momentum, forming a coalition to reparate and bring justice to the Armenian people, who for 106 years suffered and endured repercussions of this inhumane crime against them and to prevent future crimes against humanity.
