On April 28, political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Armenia and the Swiss Confederation were held co-chaired by the Head of European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tigran Samvelian and the Head of the Eurasia Department of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Anna Ifkovits Horner.
During the consultations, the interlocutors highly assessed the political relations between the two countries, discussed a wide range of issues on the Armenian-Swiss bilateral agenda, as well as touched upon the economic ties, outlining the steps taken to strengthen and expand them.
The sides touched upon the activity of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Armenia and discussed the issues regarding the drafting of the strategy of further cooperation for 2022-2025.
The interlocutors also discussed the prospects for cooperation and mutual support within the framework of international organizations.

During the consultations the parties exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest of international agenda. The parties touched upon each other’s positions on regional issues.
Special attention was paid to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement and humanitarian issues in the post-war situation. The importance of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship format was particularly emphasized in this regard, including the issue of final status settlement. Particular attention was paid to the urgent issues of providing humanitarian assistance and to the prisoners of war.
