And thus, the Republican Party of Armenia also submitted its application to participate in the upcoming snap parliamentary elections. Artur Vanetsyan’s Hayrenik political party, which consists of experienced politicians and specialists, will support the Republicans.
It is likely that the Armenian National Congress will also announce its participation. Thus, the political forces led by the first, second, and third presidents will appear in the opposition arena (and it cannot be ruled out that the three presidents came to an agreement that they would at least treat each other with respect in the election campaigns).
I try to avoid including my personal opinions in my analysis, and, therefore, I must say that the main competitor for the current prime minister continues to remain Robert Kocharyan for several reasons. First, the negative aspects of his administration seem to have been forgotten somewhat. The Dashnaks support him, and the Dashnaks are a well-organized political party that consists of people with ideologies. Kocharyan and his supporters, to put it mildly, are not deprived of material means, which will be critical during the elections (only the RPA will be able to compete with them in this area). The second president also has some “chemistry” with Putin, although I do not believe that the Russian president has a basis for being dissatisfied with Pashinyan. Pashinyan unconditionally implements Putin’s plans, which, in their turn, are agreed upon with Erdogan.
The electorate of the RPA and Kocharyan will not be divided equally; more votes will go to the latter. Ter-Petrossian’s electorate, in that case, is much more unique. In order to understand what he suggests, it is important to live in reality instead of governing with prejudices and myths, which (not living in a fantasy), to be honest, is not expected from the majority of society.

Of course, it’s not as if the past three leaders and the current fourth leader are angels, and nothing bad can be said about their years in power. Ter-Petrossian’s rule gave way to election fraud and the arbitrariness of the security forces. The criminal-oligarch system was created by Kocharyan and developed by Serzh Sargsyan, which is “targeted” in the direction of corruption. Instead of resolving the Artsakh conflict, the second and third presidents tried to delay it as much as possible. Pashinyan not only was not resolving the conflict and delaying its resolution, but he made irresponsible statements in foreign policy based on his unfounded self-confidence.
The same style of speech and action in all other areas led to the deplorable state of affairs that exists today. Of course, we must focus on the shortcomings and failures of the current authorities. The rest could be left in history if they did not seek to run in the parliamentary elections.
