Jirayr Sefilian, a member of the National Democratic Pole Council and commander of the Shushi special military battalion, said in his speech that we will soon bring back Shushi with the nation-army that will be formed.
In the beginning of his speech, Sefilian said that the situation in Armenia is difficult, and the system that has been oppressing us for thirty years is in a state of crisis. “This theater that we are watching is trying to save itself by staging the non-elections of the National Assembly. Yes, we accept that a very difficult situation has been created for a political force like ourse, and we accept that we still cannot impose our agenda together with our people, but that is only for now. I am sure that it is not too late for the day when this square will be full. Today, there are more people than there were on March 16th when we started.”
He said that the pole has opened offices in different cities throughout the country and is meeting with like-minded people.
“Just as in 1992-1994, alongside staging battles on the battlefield, we are also being forced to form an army. Today, we are forced to organize a political Sardarapat and self-organize as a nation-army. Every office will be a catalyst in creating that nation-army, which will birth a national state this time. Today, we cannot help but remember tomorrow, May 9th, when our dear city, Shushi, is held prisoner.

We believe that not only will we bring back Shushi soon with our nation-army that will be formed, but we will do that without much effort because when we have a nation state with the right policies, we will demand that Azerbaijan leave many regions just as they did to us. We will not only demand that they leave Shushi without firing a single shot, but even Gandzak and Nakhichevan. Glory to the Armenia that will be freed tomorrow!”
