“Khoznavar is not empty. Perhaps some people took their wives and children to Goris or other neighboring villages, but rumors that our village has emptied are not true,” the administrative leader of Khoznavar, Varo Grigoryan, told Aravot Daily. He said that Azerbaijan advanced 1.5 km yesterday towards Khoznavar. “If you take this directly, they advanced 1 km from Sev Lich to the Tegh village. They went 800 meters from their border to ours and no one stopped them,” Varo Grigoryan said.

The Khoznavar village, as well as Tegh, Aravus, Khnatsakh, Kornidzor, Vaghatur, and Karashen fall within the enlarged Tegh community.

The press secretary of the community leader, Arev Abelyan, said that the situation is calm at the moment.

“Late last night, under the leadership of community leader Nerses Shadunts, the army corps and our border guards from the Tegh village battalion returned to their original positions. Everything is being done to keep the situation stable. At the moment, all of the community’s positions are under our control. Residents are conducting their daily activities,” Abelyan said.

The head of Khoznavar once again insisted that people not share unconfirmed information. “You’re saying that no one has remained in Khoznavar. Where did they go? Everyone is involved in animal husbandry or agriculture. How can they simply leave? No matter what happens, we will stay here,” Varo Grigoryan concluded.
