“We will participate because we have evaluated the situation correctly,” the former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army and former Secretary of Artsakh’s Security Council, Samvel Babayan, told reporters during a briefing regarding his decision to participate in the upcoming elections on June 20th in Armenia.
“We do not want to fall into a fight between black and white and destroy the country in general. That is why we are entering this process as the middle line so that we can prevent bloodshed,” Samvel Babayan noted.
Regarding the fact that the three presidents’ political forces will be participating in the elections, Samvel Babayan said, “Let the presidents participate, but the people will decide whether or not they should give the presidents the opportunity to lead once again. I am surprised when they say that they will win. The public will decide that.”
