During a working visit to Gyumri, reporters asked the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, Suren Papikyan, about the current situation at the border and if negotiations are taking place for representatives of the Azerbaijani forces to withdraw from the Syunik and Gegharkunik provinces.
Suren Papikyan said, “The main portion is the lake Sev portion where soldiers of our neighboring country are deployed. The situation is different in many places. Our society simply forces us to speak about our positions constantly.”
Upon a question about whether or not there is a condition set forth by the Azerbaijani side that they will not withdraw from the Armenian borders until the document is signed, according to which five villages from the Tavush province and one village from the Ararat province will be handed over to the enemy, which Prime Minister Pashinyan had spoken about in parliament, the minister said, “At the moment, there are no conditions, and the Prime Minister did not say that they will not withdraw if we do not sign it.”
