“The situation is tense and explosive,” acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a recent Facebook livestream in reference to the situation at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.
He said that Armenian and Azerbaijani soldiers were “very intertwined” in many areas. Then he clarified, “That is not only in reference to the Second Army Corps, but the First Army Corps as well. There are places where our soldiers have been face-to-face with Azerbaijani soldiers for over a week. Naturally, the tension is growing there and there have been incidents. In return, our soldiers are naturally trying to stop it.”
According to Nikol Pashinyan, Armenian soldiers and generals are under a lot of pressure. “On one hand, the pressure is why they are not carrying out operations or anti-terrorist operations, and on the other hand, the pressure is that any operation is combined with success or failure.”
Nikol Pashinyan stopped his livestream after making these statements. He went live while on the road.
