The joint exams will take place on June 8th, and they will take place in accordance with the “one university, one profession” principle. Changes were made in the competition this year, and the priority of the first bid was removed. This year, 11,487 applicants will take the joint exam during the first round, and 1,899 applicants will take the in-university exam. The deputy director of the Assessment and Testing Center, Karo Nasibyan, spoke about this in an interview with Aravot Daily. He also presented the number of places available for full-ride and paying students.
There are 1,824 places available for full-ride scholarships, and there are 21,820 places available for paying students. In other words, there are twice as many places as there are applicants. “Applicants do not have issues being accepted into the university, and the main change that we implemented over the past two years was that, for example, a historian with 0.25 units should not be rejected because someone who applied for the law program received 0.25 more units. We want to finally get rid of this practice so that everyone can study their desired profession,” the deputy director said. By the way, 101 students applied to study at Yerevan State University’s Faculty of Journalism, which is not a poor statistic according to the ATC deputy director.
