During an election campaign in the Abovyan city of Kotayk, representative of the ARF Supreme Body Ishkhan Saghatelyan said that the governors continue to exert pressure upon the heads of communities, school principles, and directors of hospitals and other organizations. He once again warned the government to stay far away from conscious citizens of Armenia who are standing with the Armenian nation and statehood, and who are saying “no” to the “treacherous government.”
Until then, during a rally in Nor Hachn, Ishkhan Saghatelyan said that in 1998, Robert Kocharyan and the ARF were the ones to overcome the crisis caused by first President Levon Ter-Petrossian. He assured that the same force will come to overcome this crisis today. By confirming that their target in these elections is the “evil government,” Ishkhan Saghatelyan responded to first President Levon Ter-Petrossian’s statement that Robert Kocharyan is not an anti-crisis leader, but he is the one to create and lead those crises. “Yes, Robert Kocharyan is an anti-crisis leader. I do not want to insult the first president. I simply want to remind him that he was the one who created that crisis in 1988, and when Robert Kocharyan and the ARF came to power, they overcame that crisis. Today’s crisis was created by his spiritual child. Yes, we are coming to overcome this together.”
“These people are now going to villages and convincing people that there is a future. They brought these people to the point where they are emigrating. Now, they are trying to convince people that there is a future. Yes, there is a future, but that future is without Nikol and Nikolism. At the time, they said that there was a way out, then they closed all the ways out. Then, they said take a step, and they cut off all the soldiers’ legs. Now, they are saying that there is a future, and they want to cut off that future, too. On June 20th, Armenian citizens must cut them off and set them loose,” Ishkhan Saghatelyan said.

The alliance’s candidate for prime minister and second President Robert Kocharyan also particularly said that he does not wish to speak about this government. “They are finished. There is nothing good remaining. They settled into the Armenian government building.” He said that his force is coming to resolve the crises. “They are not creators, they are destructive and harmful,” Robert Kocharyan said, describing the current authorities. He urged voters to vote for them and demand from them. He swore that he would never take advantage of people’s trust.
