During a session on June 13th, the Central Electoral Commission was investigating the Zartonk national-Christian party’s appeal on applying to the court to invalidate the registration of the Civil Contract party’s electoral list. The Zartonk party had applied to the Central Electoral Commission as Nikol Pashinyan did not ensure free elections due to his calls for hatred and violence. The CEC rejected the appeal on the grounds that they are propaganda statements, and the CEC does not want to enter that field.
However, the CEC does not deny that there were calls for hatred and violence. The former chief of staff of the Constitutional Court, Edgar Ghazaryan, also appealed to the Central Electoral Commission to invalidate Nikol Pashinyan’s registration as the first candidate on the Civil Contract list based on the fact that he was nominated as the acting Prime Minister, and he declared himself the acting Prime Minister in violation of the Constitution.
