“Some people wanted to turn Armenia into a stage for civil strife, but you, first of all, you did not allow it, but today those forces are trying to revive their intentions, but you have to squeeze the forces that turn Armenia into a stage for civil strife at voting polls on June 20,” Nikol Pashinyan, the candidate for Prime Minister of the Civil Contract party, said during a meeting with citizens in the town of Abovyan in the Kotayk province. He again referred to the return of the captives, noting that they are ready to give maps of all the minefields in Azerbaijan’s frontier.
He also spoke about the issue of POWs, noting that they are prepared to give Azerbaijan all the minefield maps of their frontier. “But our society would not understand that we would return them unilaterally within the conditions of having POWs there. The first step in that constructiveness came when they returned to the lost soldier. At that time, negotiations on these issues had already started, and we must assess the positive developments. We must assess the actions that will ease the situation.” According to Nikol Pashinyan, immediately after the elections, the negotiations on a comprehensive settlement of the Artsakh issue will resume. “And we are ready, and yes, we will go to the settlement of the issue. We will do everything possible or impossible to resolve the issue, to open an era of peaceful development for Armenia and the Armenian people.”
