The elections have just taken place, it is not yet clear how these results will affect the formation of political life in the new conditions. The statement came from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov when asked how the results of Sunday’s snap parliamentary elections in Armenia will affect the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) and the region.
“Let’s wait until there will be a [new Armenian] government,” Lavrov added. “We still assume that the tripartite agreements that ended the [Karabakh] war [last fall], as well as the second tripartite agreement, which started the process of agreeing on specific forms of entire economic activity, operate, and are in the interests of all parties involved.”
