People from Artsakh gathered on Stepanakert’s Renaissance Square demanding the resignation of President of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan.

Arayik Harutyunyan had visited the Civil Contract office yesterday, which caused anger among people. In addition, the President of Artsakh congratulated Civil Contract’s candidate for Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, which also caused anger and disagreements.

A group of residents from Artsakh gathered in front of the President of Artsakh’s office and they demanded Arayik Harutyunyan’s resignation. The situation continues to get tense. We witnessed people taping posters with the word “Leave” written on them on nearby areas.

The State Minister of Artsakh, Artak Beglaryan, had approached the protesters and informed them that he spoke to the president and said that people have voiced such demands. He also added that Arayik Harutyunyan will be in Stepanakert tomorrow afternoon, and he will have a public speech regarding people’s demands. “Our demand is inviolable,” one of the protesters said. Tigran Petrosyan, who is the leader of the Tomorrow’s Artsakh political party, said in his speech that President Harutyunyan must be held responsible.
