A completely new type of service will soon appear in the Republic of Armenia – the Patrol Police, which I am sure will bring in a breath of fresh air, new work style and culture in terms of law enforcement, protection of public order and human rights in our country. Thank you for responding to the reforms initiated by the Government. I am hopeful that each of you will perform this important mission with a high sense of responsibility. Congratulations.”

Nikol Pashinyan was presented the efforts made to ensure a successful launch for the Patrol Service. Opening the consultative meeting, the Acting Prime Minister noted: “We have gathered to discuss the ongoing efforts aimed at establishing the Patrol Police, which is one of the most important reforms. I should note that this reform is of particular political significance. It is of paramount importance in terms of raising the standard of law enforcement and public order in our country. The point is that we are thereby completing the program’s first stage in Yerevan in order to bring it to a logical end by implementing the process throughout the regions of the Republic of Armenia. Such large-scale reforms usually imply specific challenges; we must record how far we have gone and what we must do in the near future to bring our actions as close as possible to the proposed deadlines.”
