July 08,2021 19:19

Armenia currently uses the EU-produced AstraZeneca vaccine. The acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan spoke about this during a briefing with reporters after the session of government. She urged people not to spread misinformation.

“Misinformation spread that there is an AstraZeneca that is accepted in the EU, and an AstraZeneca that is not accepted,” Avanesyan said, referring to news that European Union nations do not recognize AstraZeneca certificates from Armenia and they ban the entrance of citizens.

Anahit Avanesyan said that they are working to ensure that different countries recognize the formats of Armenian certificates. It is a process of mutual recognition. The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs can provide information on what countries have already accepted Armenian certificates.

According to her, Armenia uses the AstraZeneca company’s products, which is accepted in the European Union. “That vaccine does not have other variants. That company produced a vaccine, which was accepted by the EU. Our country is currently using the EU-produced AstraZeneca,” Anahit Avanesyan said, noting that all countries have begun the process of mutual recognition. “The MFA has provided information on where the process is complete. Armenia is not delaying anything. It is a process that all countries are going through now.”
