The Court of First Instance of Yerevan upheld the motion of the Special Investigation Service, and Goris Mayor Arush Arushanyan was detained for two months.
“This is the reality, but we will continue the fight to achieve truth and justice. This is unprecedented because the community is beheaded by the contradictory testimony of one person. He said something, then denied it, then testified, and Arushanyan was arrested. They are talking about the mandate of the people. Did Arushanyan not have the mandate of the people? Or is it already possible to spit on the mandate?” Arush Arushanyan’s lawyer, Armen Melkonyan, said indignantly at the briefing with journalists.
Arush Arushanyan was accused of securing votes for the Armenia alliance and handing out bribes in order to record the desired results in the elections.
