The Alternative Projects Group organized a conference titled, “Armenia’s Political and Legal Challenges: Post-Election Armenia” on Friday.
As far as the solutions they see within the current situation, “I Have Honor” alliance representative Hayk Mamijanyan said that people must fight and not be scared of these authorities in any way. “We must use all the levers we have to show our true selves. On behalf of our entire political alliance, I can guarantee any kind of defense from physical to legal.”
Mamijanyan urged not to give false testimonies for political persecutions and not to take part in it. “We have all noticed how he speaks to Aliyev, to Armenia’s enemies, and how he speaks to us, the opposition. He does not understand that if he is afraid of Aliyev, he should be doubly afraid of the political forces, the leader of each of which has defeated Aliyev once or twice. Let him listen to this.”
Armenia alliance representative Arthur Ghazinyan urged not to retreat, assuring that the authorities have no other weapons or arsenal than to initiate criminal cases and arrests. “We will not give up, get that out of your minds… All those who did not tolerate us in this election went and chose evil and insidiousness. We will not refuse to work for everyone. In Armenia, apart from that treacherous junta, we have no enemy. I want to ask our citizens that no Nikol is worth the dirt under your nails so that you can go fight with your relatives, get upset with your friends, or not communicate with your neighbors. Keep in touch and stay friends. This is what kept us Armenian. We will have a strong state.”
