A member of the Alternative Project Group and the Armenia alliance, Gegham Nazaryan, who lost his son during the war in 2020, was taken into custody on Saturday.
A member of the initiative, Elinar Vardanyan, spoke about this during a discussion organized by the Alternative Project Group. “They decided to take our colleague, Gegham Nazaryan, into custody at the police station. Twenty police officers literally attacked him a few meters away from us. They were given the order to throw him to the ground when they took him into custody, and to make sure that his head hits the ground. This is nothing other than self-government. There is no explanation as to why they are taking him into custody. They also took ARF youth participating in our events into custody. They were simply standing in front of the ARF building,” Elinar Vardanyan said.
She said that all of this is political persecution on behalf of the authorities. “There is nothing preventing Pashinyan from positioning himself as a dictator.”
