A member of the Alternative Project Group and the Armenia alliance, Gegham Nazaryan, who lost his son during the war in 2020, was taken into custody on Saturday.
After leaving the police station, he hurried to the event organized by the initiative, during which he told the details. He said that when he came to take part in the event, he got out of the car and saw three Red Berets pushing a girl and arresting her. “I said sarcastically, you’re right, press harder, because I also think she’s Ilham Aliyev. They continued their work, then ran after me. Someone said, ‘Make sure his head hits the ground.’ They could not move me with four people, then they became 15-20 people, and realizing that they would break my arm, I threw myself on the ground so that it would not be because of those animals. Then they took me to the department.”
According to Gegham Nazaryan, the Red Berets lied that he had taken part in some action or had not obeyed their legal demand. “They’re throwing themselves on the ground by doing that, not me. As long as Nikol’s regime holds the country in its hands, such phenomena will occur. An entire country was laid on the asphalt, thousands of people were killed,” Gegham Nazaryan added.
