According to Aravot Daily’s sources, a number of Georgian citizens were issued passports by the RA Police Passport and Visa Department (PVD) and some of them were not registered with the RA Ministry of Defense conscription and mobilization service. The letter received from the RA Police PVD on July 18th of this year informed that the RA Police PVD requested verification from the Ministry of Defense on 528 Georgian citizens who received Armenian citizenship between 2020-2021 by the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia and were documented with the passport of a citizen of the Republic of Armenia they were registered in the military.
According to the response received from the Ministry of Defense Conscription and Mobilization Service, it turns out that 76 of the people included in the list were not registered in the Ministry of Defense Conscription and Mobilization Service, but they received Armenian passports from the RA Police PVD by submitting an application for an Armenian citizen passport and registration card, on which there is a corresponding note on the military registration. In particular, the Ministry of Defense Conscription and Mobilization Service received a response to the relevant inquiry made on July 21 of this year, stating that Karen K. (registered in Akhaltsikhe, Georgia) did not pass the MoD Conscription and Mobilization Service registration. Materials on what took place are currently being prepared.
