July 23,2021 20:30

“I believe that they are in the same situation as political prisoners. The current authorities must get rid of them soon. By being deputies, they are blessed with immunity,” member of the Armenia alliance and former Minister of Defense, Seyran Ohanyan, told reporters during a briefing about the mayors of Syunik. A petition was signed on Northern Avenue in central Yerevan demanding the release of the detained mayors. “If they are not released, we will initiate the appropriate measures.

The authorities are speaking about hate speech and tolerance, and after the elections, when many violations were recorded, it is unacceptable to pursue our team members and create fake criminal cases,” he added. According to Seyran Ohanyan, the mayors of Syunik are persecuted in the post-election period because Syunik was the first to rebel and it rejected the defeating steps of the forced, losing authorities.

Regarding his work in parliament, Seyran Ohanyan, who was appointed head of the Armenia alliance’s parliamentary faction, emphasized that many people voted for them. “We are obligated to achieve regime change and have a strong attitude. The current authorities should not be in charge of Armenia.”
