On July 18th at approximately 4 AM, a strange incident took place in one of the apartment buildings on Gyumri’s Ghandilyan Street. One of the residents called the police asking for help since an unknown man whom she did not understand attempted to break into her apartment. The woman also said that she was under the impression that the stranger was under the influence of alcohol while constantly knocking and hitting on her apartment door.
According to our sources, the police, reaching this address, summoned 35-year-old Russian citizen A.S. to the Kumayri police station in front of that apartment. It turned out that he lives in the 8th military district of Gyumri, is the commander of the combat vehicle of the 102nd military base of the Russian military base and a sergeant. The soldier reported that on July 17th at around 11 PM, he went for a walk alone near the station square. He went to a nearby nightclub where he drank alcohol and, not sure of his surroundings, he entered a building and knocked on the door of an apartment, thinking that it was his own.
The police checked the Russian sergeant’s level of sobriety. It was 0.98 m/L, and he was released. The woman who called the police refused to file a report. Materials are being prepared at the Kumayri police department.
