At the moment, Armenia does not have a sequenced sample of the Delta variant of the coronavirus, but, of course, this variant is also spreading in Armenia. Acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan spoke about this today during a briefing with reporters at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center.
She said that this variant is spreading throughout Armenia since our air borders with Russia and Georgia are open, and the Delta variant of the coronavirus is the main variant in those countries.
Regarding the situation surrounding the coronavirus, Avanesyan said that there has been a small increase in the number of new cases. The increase is not drastic- it is small- but soon, especially in the first half of fall, there is a threat of a new wave.
At the moment, a package with certain restrictions has been put into circulation, which will be presented to the public in the second half of August.
