‘11,000 hectares of land were gifted to Turkey’: Robert Simonyan on the information he provided and how the preliminary investigation bodies did not process it

July 29,2021 15:05

“It seems that the mentioned action is being concealed and hidden. I mean the process of revealing it,” said Robert Simonyan, the President of the Kashatagh NGO, in a conversation with Aravot Daily referring to the information he provided regarding the donation of territories to Turkey and the fact that the preliminary investigation bodies did not take action on it. According to Aravot Daily’s sources, on July 21, at 11:33 pm, Robert Simonyan called the operative control center of the RA Police and informed them that in different parts of the Armenian-Turkish border, Turkey had advanced about 1.5 km and had taken our borders. In addition, satellite photos from 2019 show that 11,000 hectares were gifted to Turkey, which he considers an act of national treason. On this occasion, on July 26, the RA Police’s Yerevan city department received a letter about Articles 180-181 of the Criminal Code from the head of the RA Police Operative Management Center to resolve the process.  Materials are being prepared.

Robert Simonyan told Aravot Daily that this is not the only case. Unfortunately, there are many cases that do not become the subject of any investigation. He continued, “On the contrary, the preliminary investigation body, the investigator, the prosecutor, etc. refuse to make a decision in accordance with the law.”  In accordance with the law, they must either initiate a criminal case, refuse to initiate a criminal case, or make a decision to send the case under their jurisdiction. But there is no such thing. In other words, all the systems are joint participants in this national treason, the genocide of the nation.” Robert Simonyan was angry; did it turn out that the RA state budget financed the actual territories of Azerbaijan for 30 years? Did our military equipment go there as a donation to Azerbaijan, to take our young generation as a sacrifice? Robert Simonyan noted with regret that, in fact, this is how it turns out.

Aravot Daily inquired whether the battles in the north-eastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border last night should be considered in this context. Robert Simonyan answered, yes, and he clarified, “The Armenian-Turkish protocols of 2009 include a road map by which the entire territory of Zangezur, Goris, Meghri and Kapan were handed over to Azerbaijan. In 2009, the 20,000 km road map included in the Armenian-Turkish protocols was ratified as Azerbaijani territory. This is not news. Nikol Pashinyan was brought to power for the purpose of ratifying the previously signed documents so that the handover process can actually take place.”

Robert Simonyan expressed concern that no decision had been made to send the program according to the subordination and continued, “Preliminary investigation bodies did not perform any function in the manner prescribed by law. In fact, everyone is an accomplice to high treason. They are hiding the crimes. These are also co-planned international crimes. They also include conventions- the Genocide Convention. After all, for 30 years, our children were taken to Karabakh, which, according to their documents, was Azerbaijani territory. In fact, our children acted as mercenaries in the mentioned area. Who armed and hired them, the so-called de facto government?”
