At the 32nd Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Armenian wrestler Karapet Chalyan (77 kg) defeated Alxander Chekhirkin of Russia 2-1 to reach the semi-finals.
In the semifinals he will fight Kyrgyzstan’s Akzhol Makhmudov, who gained an advantage over the representative of Azerbaijan in the quarterfinals.
Chalyan started the fight from the 1/8 final, where he defeated Uzbek Yalgashbay Berdimuratov 5-0.
