“Since our faction’s capabilities are limited, we will continue to fight both in parliament and elsewhere,” Armenia alliance deputy Vahe Hakobyan told reporters during an interview. The Armenia alliance appealed to the Constitutional Court about the case of the faction’s detained members, Mkhitar Zakaryan and Artur Sargsyan.
According to Vahe Hakobyan, political persecution and political vendettas continue, and that can have an impact on the border. “I believe it is obvious what issue can arise at the border. The leaders of almost all the fighting communities are detained. We witnessed during the 44-day war how the so-called Prime Minister went to Goris and told the community leader to create units and defend the border. He said that and left, and since then, they have been defending their homes and land. Who will do that now- our dissolved army, which cannot push the enemy back from Lake Sev? I see intentions here. We will bear witness to statements made by other leaders that we must be prepared for painful concessions.”
When asked if that means the borders will be strengthened if two people are released, Vahe Hakobyan answered, “I do not mean two people. First, there are not 2 people, there are 6. Second, yes, they will be strengthened to some extent. Their detachments would follow them, but who will go today?” Upon the observation that they are told this is a legal process as they violated the Criminal Code, Vahe Hakobyan responded with a question: are you aware of the accusations? “This is an unprecedented accusation, according to a new article, according to the testimony of a woman, the head of Karahunj, who changed her testimony three times. Allegedly, Arushanyan said that if you vote for us, we will do you a favor. This is nonsense. The woman has two sons-in-law, one of whom works for the prosecutor’s office and the other for the NSS. I do not rule out that she was pressured.”
