Member of the Republican Party Executive Body and former Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, Eduard Sharmazanov, does not see any way in which it is possible to establish cooperation with the majority party in the new parliament. “I am speaking with facts. Perhaps they believe that they received a number of votes in the election, and the crimes they committed before, during, and after the war were forgotten. It’s not something they can wash away. It’s not a stain on their shirt that they can throw in the washing machine to get rid of. They caused this war. But when I say that they caused the war, that does not mean that Aliyev did not want to start a war. It’s that the so-called ruling party gave Azerbaijan the green light to start a war with its poor and incompetent policies.
Recently, the so-called President of Artsakh was saying that everything is supposedly fine. He did everything right, and then he said that betrayal did not take place. Didn’t he say that the air was defended? Didn’t you assure people on H1 that not only the air of Stepanakert, but the whole of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic is protected, then you face the fact that not only is it not protected, but it caused a disgraceful situation where fire fell like rain on people’s heads. Isn’t that deception a form of betrayal?
People think we have lost our memory. What did the great Lori resident, the great Armenian, Hrant Matevosyan say? He said, “The difference between man and animal is memory.” Thank God, our memory is intact. During the war and after the war, we remember the well-known recording where the so-called Artsakh President said, “I have been asking for help from Yerevan for 10 days.”
When you ask for help for ten days and you don’t get it, how can you say there was no betrayal? If Putin offered to stop the war on October 19th, and Shushi and Aghdam will remain under the control of the Armenian side, and he doesn’t agree to it, knowing very well the military-political situation, as well as how new territorial losses, thousands of new victims, and sending children to the butcher will happen if the war isn’t stopped. Isn’t this betrayal?

Cooperate- with whom? How can a land liberator and a supporter of the nation-state, cooperate with the land-giver regime, those who surrendered to Shushi? Someone in the parliament was asking, “Did we hand over Shushi?” Yes, you did. What did you do if you didn’t surrender it? Why did you hand over Karvachar? As of November 9, Armenian soldiers were in Karvachar.
Why did you hand over the whole of Karvachar, that strategic area? Were there Turks in Shurnukh, Sotk, and Syunik that you handed them over? And now, when one of their deputies announces that those are enclaves and they have to surrender the enclaves, how is this anything but surrender? They said that Akna is our homeland. You handed over your homeland. I personally do not see any form of cooperation with the current regime. And it’s at least strange to me when they try to link future cooperation with the arrest of our four partners. God willing, all our colleagues who were detained- I am talking about the mayors of Syunik- will be released as soon as possible.
But can I think that if they are released, it is already possible to cooperate? I say this logically after listening to the speeches in the parliament. The first reason they bring is that he did not hand over Shushi; he signed a capitulation. In other words, have we forgotten that he surrendered Shushi? The government that gave away 75% of Artsakh, the government that will soon allow a thousand Azeri soldiers to be inside Armenia for three months, says let’s cooperate? For what? They cooperate around a common idea, a common vision. The Armenia I envision is different from the Armenia they envision. In my opinion, the state of Armenia must have a national profile,” said Eduard Sharmazanov.
