“People who demand that we present the legacy of our negotiations imagine that the Armenian history textbook should be written together with Turkish NGOs. And when this man speaks of Armenian interests and the Armenian negotiating legacy, I feel a sense of dissonance,” Anna Mkrtchyan from the I Have Honor alliance said during the National Assembly session.
Ruling party deputies Maria Karapetyan and Sos Avetisyan also participated in the creation of the work titled, “Teaching history in Turkish and Armenian schools: Criticism and alternatives.” At the end of her speech, Anna Mkrtchyan, addressing the government, said, “Capitulator Nikol is the cause of permissiveness. He destroyed Armenia and Artsakh.”
NA Speaker Alen Simonyan demanded that the microphone be turned off, but the deputy had already finished his speech. People in the hall grew angry. Alen Simonyan announced that he was removing the deputy from the session hall and depriving her of the right to be present in the hall today. Anna Mkrtchyan left. She had been reprimanded again earlier for the words “Nikol” and “capitulator.”
