The discussion of the five-year government program continued in the National Assembly. The program must be put to a vote. Artur Vanetsyan spoke on behalf of the I Have Honor faction. Before moving to the essence of his speech, he referred to the message spread by the NSS, according to which the Azerbaijani side closed the Karmrakar-Shurnukh section of the Kapan-Goris road.
“We are discussing the government’s program, we are having debates, we are fighting, but the security of our country is under a serious threat. Our enemy country has closed an interstate road, and we do not know whether Syunik is cut off from the other regions or not. The Minister of Defense said that if even one centimeter of the sovereign territory of Armenia is violated, force will be used and the enemy will be thrown out. Mr. Minister, please comment on whether that interstate road is our sovereign territory or not.
I would also like Nikol Pashinyan to say what document regulates the status of the Goris-Kapan interstate road in the end,” Vanetsyan said. Then Vanetsyan referred to the speeches made over the past two days, with which, as Vanetsyan said, one directly, the other indirectly, Commander Vazgen Sargsyan was accused of grave crimes. One was carrying out a coup d’etat, the other was treason. “Vazgen Sargsyan was Minister of Defense, and during that time, I personally know many people who have been freed from military service.”
Turning to the main part of his speech, Vanetsyan said that the restoration of the unity of the Armenian world is extremely important for the coming years. “The shameful document you signed on November 9 has caused great collapses in the Armenian world. Artsakh has always been one of the axes of our unity and national self-consciousness. I understand that it is very difficult to unite around defeat and loss. Today Artsakh feels abandoned, the Diaspora is alienated, and Armenia is lost.

The sooner we can restore our national unity and dignity, the easier it will be to negotiate with our allies and the easier it will be to make peace with our immediate neighbors. And it should start by ensuring public solidarity, something that the authorities operating in the last two days failed in this hall.” Vanetsyan urged the authorities that issues should not be resolved in the parliament by the army, as it will one day lead to the well-known historical formulation “the guard is tired, he wants to sleep.”
