Robert Ghukasyan, Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Head of the Interagency Committee on Syunik Robert Ghukasyan, and Armen Khachatryan, a member of the National Assembly from Goris, were the first to drive on the Meghri-Yerevan interstate M2 intersection after the Azerbaijanis opened it.
In response to Aravot Daily’s question of whether it is true that the Azerbaijanis did not open the road completely, and instead they put up stone panels, Armen Khachatryan said, “There were barricades on the side of the road that did not hinder traffic, even for trucks. Border guards can do this so that the cars reduce their speed,” said Armen Khachatryan. The road safety is still ensured by the Armenian border troops together with the Russian border guards.
