The Prosecutor’s complaint against the termination of the case of the second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and others was being examined in the Criminal Court of Appeals.
Before examining the complaints, Mihran Poghosyan’s lawyer’s appeal was investigated, according to which the lawyer asked to lift the ban on the former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Yuri Khachaturov crossing the Armenian border. The lawyer said that by the decision of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, the criminal prosecution of Yuri Khachaturov and others under Article 300.1 of the RA Criminal Code was terminated. Therefore, the measure of restraint imposed on him was lifted. However, as the lawyer said, Yuri Khachaturov’s right to free movement remains limited. The court, presided over by Judge Narine Hovakimyan, upheld this appeal.
