“They are also negotiating behind Moscow’s back, we have such data”: Vladimir Poghosyan

September 14,2021 13:00

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, speaking at the September 8th session of government in reference to the reopening of Armenia-Russia-Azerbaijan trilateral communications, stated, “In order to solve this problem, we are discussing the issue of reopening communications on the Armenia-Russia-Azerbaijan trilateral scale. Here, we are determined to make efforts that produce concrete results while realizing, of course, that Azerbaijan, in turn, expects to receive communication between its western regions, Nakhichevan.”

“I do not know whose prime minister he is, but mine. This statement is a signal not only for us, but also for Artsakh. Let the President of Artsakh and the Foreign Minister think very seriously. Let the Artsakh Foreign Minister and the Secretary of Artsakh’s Security Council Vitaly Balasanyan think well,” said Vladimir Poghosyan, former advisor to Onik Gasparyan, former Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces and former Security Advisor to the President of Armenia during the First Artsakh War. According to him, if Artsakh’s leadership has nothing to think about this statement or does not understand what Nikol Pashinyan said, then they should resign and hand over power in Artsakh and Armenia. According to Vladimir Poghosyan, what Nikol Pashinyan announces means that this was all pre-determined.

“It’s just a big show that they tell the people that will not hand over land and we do not have such goals. All these are false. They are not honest with the people. It was the same during Serzh’s time when they said that there were no secret negotiations. It is not true. Those who say that Nikol Pashinyan and his team took power are lying. They did not take power, but they were given that power as a gift to come and sign. These are the signers. Their goal is to sign, use them, and throw them away. We understand that this scenario has been prepared for about ten years. Now, step by step, they are bringing us to the point where Armenia will not exist as a state.” Vladimir Poghosyan warned that if he continues this way and we do not vote, neither Artsakh nor Armenia will remain on the map.

In the document signed on November 9, Vladimir Poghosyan draws attention to one point: the one related to communications. “It is written in the ninth point: we open the whole territory and the borders, and we go on the path of peace. For 26 years, Turkey and Azerbaijan have said that if you recognize Karabakh in Azerbaijan and you recognize our borders, we will sign a peace treaty and open the roads. If the Armenian authorities sign all this, then they have made agreements with Moscow, Turkey, and Azerbaijan. We can already forget about Artsakh. They hand over and will hand over everything. As the opposition, what are you doing in the parliament? And? How long will you sit?” Referring to the criticism that the deputies of the ruling party do not have their position, Vladimir Poghosyan said, “They came to hand over lands, they elected the people who have no position. They do not know what an Armenian is, what Armenia is, they did not take part in the war, they have no position, they are ordinary traitors.”

In response to our observation that there are discussions about how in the coming months Nikol Pashinyan is going to sign a peace treaty “to recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan,” and to the question about what information he has, Vladimir Poghosyan answered, “We can not say that we have 100% information, we are still collecting it. We have friends in different countries and systems who are aware. They can hardly do anything behind our backs that we do not know in advance. The issue of enclaves is definitely on the table. They say they will try to open the road through the Zangezur corridor. And many of them are negotiating over such things, and I am sure they are negotiating with Moscow behind our backs, and we have such information. We are still studying where, who participates, then the people will know. There is nothing secret for us. Let them agree with Aliyev and Moscow as much as they want, the decision is made by the Armenian nation, the Armenian people. If they want to turn Armenia into Afghanistan or Kurdistan, we have no problem. Let them open that route and we will see what Armenia will be like.”
