A video was spread on the Internet of how the Azeris stopped the bus transporting Armenian children on the Vorotan section of the Goris-Kapan road and scratched the Artsakh flag on the bus with a knife. The RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan issued a statement saying that the children are the players of the Artsakh children’s football team, around 15-16 years old, who were traveling on the Vorotan road.
“Azerbaijani servicemen, armed and masked, checked the children’s phones under the pretext of finding some videos. The children’s bus was kept like that for 10-15 minutes. During that time, the Artsakh flag was scraped off the bus with a knife. Azerbaijani sources are proud to share this video. But the issue here is the behavior of the Azerbaijani army towards children with the aim of openly intimidating children while armed and wearing masks.
Now the video has been posted on Azerbaijani social networks, and it is accompanied by impudent insults to children, calls to kill Armenians, and deep hatred. All this is the result of years of state-sponsored Azerbaijani anti-Armenian policy. We have documented the evidence,” the RA Human Rights Defender wrote.

The Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan, who visited Gyumri, referring to this incident, said, “I have seen the video, but I think that no one will be able to remove the flag and coat of arms of Artsakh. Perhaps through small actions, but it is futile and more aimed at irritating people and affecting people’s emotions. But I reiterate, it will not work.”
