What would you say to the people who criticize Vazgen Sargsyan in the parliament? In response to this question from journalists at Yerablur, Sasun Mikaelyan, the chairman of Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, asked whom the journalists are referring to. It was about the pro-government deputy Khachatur Sukiasyan, who addressed the opposition deputies in the National Assembly and said, “Vazgen Sargsyan organized a coup. I should not differentiate. Vazgen Sargsyan, bless his soul, has done very bad things to Armenia. What does the power system have to do with standing up and telling the political leadership, ‘Are you wrong? Who is he?’”
Sasun Mikaelyan answered, “Khachatur Sukiasyan is too small a person to criticize or do whatever to Vazgen Sargsyan. One has to look back at their past from the Artsakh war to the present day, as well as what they have done for our state and statehood in our modern history, and then talk about Vazgen Sargsyan.
Vazgen Sargsyan was the man who was able to liberate an area of 8000 square meters, not only himself, but also as a nation. There were different detachments in the 90s, people with different worldviews, different interests, and different hobbies. Vazgen was able to unite and we were able to liberate Artsakh. The buffer zone was created for the security of Artsakh. Such people are too small to criticize Vazgen Sargsyan.”
