A torchlight procession was held from the statue of Garegin Nzhdeh to Yerablur on the evening of September 26. The second president Robert Kocharyan was walking in front with the members of the Armenia faction. Before the start of the march, the organizers announced, “Today, exactly one year after the 44-day war, we are carrying out this symbolic march to the sanctuary of Yerablur to keep alive the memory of our devotees who went on to win the 44-day war, and to commit to continuing their work.
The purpose of this march is to state that we are the masters of the blood shed by our martyrs and our statehood that exists as a result of their ideas and devotion. By joining the march, we state that there are still many Armenians who, realizing this difficult situation facing our statehood and our people, continue the struggle that our glorious ancestors have pushed for centuries and that our heroes of the last Artsakh war continued. We are convinced that no one who brought Artsakh and Armenia to this state will go unpunished.”
