The head of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, Sasun Mikaelyan, visited the Yerablur Pantheon on September 27, the anniversary of the start of the 44-day war, to pay tribute to the memory of the victims. Responding to the observation in a briefing with journalists that Pashinyan could have stopped the war sooner as there was such an offer from the Russian president, he said, “What did he say? He should have stopped it. If Putin wanted to stop the war, did Pashinyan not let him? Or at least France or America. Did Pashinyan not let them?”
According to Sasun Mikaelyan, he was in Jabrayil at that time. If one of those three superpowers wanted to stop the war, they would have done so․ “People came and said there would be a ceasefire, I said to be more careful.” He said that he does not live with the psychology that we will not bring back what we lost. “It is natural that we should bring it back, but today we should be smart and unite. We need to stop this hatred towards one another so that people realize that the problem is our statehood, not Sasun Mikaelyan or Onik or someone else.”
