The chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Andranik Kocharyan does not know how the plane coming from Baku to Yerevan was not empty, but instead, it brought the POWs’ tortured bodies. In response to one of the journalist’s questions in parliament on October 5th about why that circumstance waa kept secret from the public, Andranik Kocharyan answered that it was his omission; he will study the case in detail and provide clarification. Several months ago, pro-government MP Nazeli Baghdasaryan announced that a plane coming from Baku to Yerevan would transport POWs to Armenia.
Later, it became clear that the plane was empty. Recently, Hetq published an article in which a mother spoke about her son, saying that his tortured body was transported to Yerevan by a plane that was said to have arrived in Yerevan empty. When asked about Davit Tonoyan’s arrest, Andranik Kocharyan did not go into much detail, saying only that corruption in the army should be completely ruled out. He again threw stones at the former government, accusing them of robbery, and reiterated his well-known thesis that the fate of a soldier is in every mansion and every stone.
Responding to the fact that the accusation against Davit Tonoyan refers to the period of activity of the current government, Andranik Kocharyan said that the preliminary investigation body has filed an accusation, so let it defend the accusation in the future. The pro-government MP did not agree with the observation that David Tonoyan was elected a scapegoat after the war. He said that the issue of army management is in the context of the relations between the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, and these issues will also be on the agenda of the inquiry commission into the 44-day war.
