Seyran Ohanyan suggests creating a resistance front
On October 22, the Armenia alliance organized a discussion titled ‘The Threats to Armenia and Artsakh and Ways to Overcome Them.’ The chair of the ARF Bureau and deputy of the Armenia faction Armen Rustamyan said that serious processes are going on in Armenia and outside Armenia, and those issues are not discussed on state platforms. “There is a clear sense of the dangers that Armenia and the Armenians face today. These are serious geopolitical processes. Armenia has entered a vortex and the future of our generations depends on how it will emerge. Armenia and Artsakh face serious threats. We must try to understand the ways to overcome them.” Rustamyan said that this is a supra-party discussion and at the end of the discussion, a document will be prepared for a wide public discussion.
The head of the Armenia faction Seyran Ohanyan mentioned that it is necessary to assess the situation and make decisions. “Both the causes and the consequences of the war are obvious to us. But it is also painful with the war that the continuous series of defeats and failures for Armenia and Artsakh, which are already in the territory of Armenia, on the line of contact with Azerbaijan, persists. Certain shadowy phenomena are already taking place, and our work should be aimed at preventing them. We must create a national resistance and act under the slogans “no to the Turkification of Armenia” and “no to the eviction of Armenians from Artsakh.” Of course, Armenia and Artsakh are united both in terms of security and in terms of economic, interstate, historical, and cultural cooperation and unity. But today we are in a more dangerous situation where the challenges are so strong that the security environment has become very fragile around us.”
