In a conversation with Aravot Daily, Minister of Education and Science of Artsakh Lusine Gharakhanyan noted that a new educational institution is being established on the basis of the former Stepanakert Vocational School and 4 basic schools with the support of Antonia Arslan, an Italian writer with Armenian heritage.
“It is a wonderful project with which the Italian educational model entered Artsakh, but not in terms of general education, but in terms of professional education. Designers from Gucci, Valentino, and other famous companies are currently in Artsakh, teaching children sewing technology, sewing production, and design work, as well as well-known woodworking masters and chefs. For obvious reasons, we will not make their names public now. We will do so when they leave Artsakh. Azerbaijanis often put them on blacklists, but these people only teach us a trade,” said the Artsakh Minister of Education and Science.
According to Lusine Gharakhanyan, the new educational institution may soon receive international accreditation. “In general, I think that the education system is not subject to politicization in any way, education should not recognize borders. There will also be an exchange of students. Our students will go and study in Italy for some time. We have started a partnership with an Italian vocational college.”
