“Pashinyan confessed that before September 27, in addition to the factors visible to the public, experts, the Ministry of Defense, and the National Security Service, he was in a radio clan that created trust. In other words, information was absorbed by the Azerbaijani side, which once again confirmed that there would be a war,” I Have Honor MP Tigran Abrahamyan said during a briefing with journalists on Friday, referring to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement that he was on the radio clan that assured there would be a war two days before September 27. According to him, in the presence of a number of factors, Nikol Pashinyan and the military leadership did not take appropriate actions, which laid the groundwork for the defeat of the Armenian side. “The series of measures intended for such a situation were not implemented, due to which the state and the Armed Forces were not prepared for an attack by Azerbaijan.”
Pashinyan also said that Sanasar and Kovsakan were surrendered because it was planned within the framework of the previous government’s negotiations. In this regard, Tigran Abrahamyan said, “The surrender of Sanasar and Kovsakan to Azerbaijan had nothing to do with the November 9 document, which said that the Karvachar, Aghdam, and Lachin regions were to be surrendered. If he took the administrative-territorial division as a basis in the Soviet period, then it included the Kovsakan and Sanasar regions. Those or the parts of them that were under our control as of November 9 do not fit into the logic of November 9. They were not subject to surrender under any circumstances. In case of surrender, the details of the road were not negotiated. They did not take into account the situation we will find ourselves in if we surrender those regions.” As for Pashinyan’s statement that the Armenian troops retreated from Sanasar and Kovsakan to the Syunik border so that there would be no war, Tigran Abrahamyan noted that by that logic, Azerbaijan could demand that we hand over Vardenis and Kapan.
