“Now, yes, we are in a situation where decisions are being made instead of us,” RPA Vice President Armen Ashotyan said on November 5 at the Hayeli press club, referring to the meeting expected in Moscow in the coming days. “Let’s talk about the 3 + 3 format. The current government runs away, avoiding expressing its opinion. Now I will speak directly to our compatriots. Any format is theoretically good if it includes your national interest. If you can not advance your national interest, any format, even the new one, becomes problematic.
Moreover, in that format there are two enemies in the form of Azerbaijan and Turkey, and you can not hold onto your interests. All this becomes even more problematic when you realize that the government of your strategic ally involved in this format, the current government, has not been able to ensure such a level of substantive cooperation that if the Armenians are not able to advance their interests, at least Russia as a whole will do that. That does not exist either. Now, to summarize e, tell me.
Is the 3 + 3 format right or wrong for Nikol, under his bad relations with Russia, including Azerbaijan and Turkey? I would say it would be right if I was sure that our national interest is included and Armenia is represented by another leader who, for example, was able to build relations with Russia not by crawling, but by flying. Russia, like all empires in the world, uses reptiles but respects dignitaries. In the current situation, we see that Nikol Pashinyan cannot ensure the process of including Armenian interests either personally or in cooperation with our strategic ally. And the last observation related to the 3 + 3 format. Let’s be honest. Look at the map. 3 + 3 is an incomplete format because it is not complete. Why?

Because in addition to the first three – Russia-Turkey-Iran and the second three – Azerbaijan-Georgia-Armenia, there are three more in the South Caucasus – Nagorno Karabakh-Abkhazia-South Ossetia. These three are not in 3 + 3. And since they do not exist, Georgia is hesitant about Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and the Armenian people have every reason to hesitate about the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. In other words, the 3 + 3 format does not initially reflect the geopolitical alignment in our region.”
